MJ’s Southernworks was built on a simple belief: a boutique should work for its customers. That’s exactly why we chose the name—because we’re here to serve you with care, honesty, and a little Southern charm. We’re proud to call Upstate South Carolina home, and we’re passionate about helping you find clothing that’s affordable, fashionable, and made for real life—especially styles that help you feel curvy, comfortable, and confident.

Our owner, Melanie Jo Trammell, is a true South Carolina girl from Edgemoor, with generations of family roots planted right here in this state. Melanie has a heart for people, a strong work ethic, and a determination that doesn’t quit. She loves the joy that comes from helping customers find pieces that fit well, feel good, and look even better.

Standing right beside her is her husband, Conley Trammell, originally from Union, South Carolina. He’s the kind of Southern gentleman who helps make dreams happen—steady, supportive, and always ready to lend a hand. Conley serves his community as a full-time firefighter and also volunteers in the fire service. Melanie is involved as well—supporting volunteer fire departments through community events and risk-reduction efforts, and she’s even been known to throw on a safety vest and direct traffic when needed.

When Melanie isn’t working on MJ’s Southernworks, she serves her school community as an Elementary School Secretary, a role she truly loves. From the day-to-day functions that keep a school running to helping students, staff, and families, serving others is simply part of who she is.

At the heart of MJ’s Southernworks is faith and gratitude. We’re thankful for the opportunity God has given us to build something meaningful, and we aim to run this business with integrity, kindness, and professionalism. While our foundation is faith-based and rooted in Southern tradition, our doors are open to everyone—because everyone deserves to feel welcome, respected, and confidently themselves.
